The Australian Charter of Healthcare rights was adopted in 2008 by Australian Health Ministers and is recommended for all health organizations.
These rights have been adopted to ensure that wherever and whatever care is provided is of high quality and is safe. The rights have been designed to help everyone work together in a genuine partnership between patients, consumers and providers so that everyone achieves the best possible outcomes.

We will endeavour to see you in a timely manner. Although sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances due to emergencies we may run late. We do appreciate if you are able to give us adequate notice if you are unable to keep your appointment.
If you have any questions or are unsure about what is happening please feel free to ask. Please also let us know of any changes to your medical history or any change of medications since your last visit. It is extremely important that we are aware of any changes to your health as well as any allergies you may have.
We aim to deliver care to you in a way that is respectful of your culture, beliefs and values. Please help us understand what is important to you. Our practice is built on the value of being respectful to all staff and patients.
You can contribute to communication by being open and honest. Please ask questions if you would like more information.
You are always able to use interpreters if English is not your first language.
We encourage you to participate in decisions about your care. Please feel free to ask any questions if you are unsure about your treatment. Please feel free to involve your family or carer if this is what makes you feel more comfortable and sure.
